Recycling
There is now a mini recycling centre in the car park of the Buck Inn at Chop Gate. There are facilities for paper, magazines and flat cardboard, green glass bottles, clear glass bottles and jars, brown glass bottles, and cans, tins and foil.

Tall Tales from the Hills
Ken Cook has published his first book,''Tall Tales from the Hills", including stories of Dragons, Ghosts and Queens from around the Cleveland hills, that touch the hearts and minds of children and adults alike. Ramblers and visitors to the district will be captivated by the unique stories. The book is available from the author and from local bookshops.

Bilsdale Study Group
Bilsdale Study Group has launched a new publication by Dennis Tyerman. Yeoman's Acres: Public Health in Stokesley Rural District, 1899 - 1939.

Planning applications

New planning applications are always available for inspection at the National Park Authority offices in Helmsley, and are now available on the National Park Authority web site as well. The Parish Council makes its own copies available for inspection locally, by prior arrangement with the clerk.


Many local events are detailed in The Beacon, the monthly Church and community newsletter that is distributed to everyone in Bilsdale.

The Bilsdale correspondent for the Darlington & Stockton Times, Joy Starkey, your local reporter and photographer, gathers and submits local news from anywhere in Bilsdale from Chop Gate and Seave Green, to Hawnby and nearby villages. She will try to cover formal events, such as parish council meetings, and events associated with the school, churches, and local clubs and societies. Then its up to you. Parish Council

Parish councillors for Bilsdale Midcable Parish Council are Malcolm Bowes, David Hollingworth, Carol McGee, Ken Cook and Sue Barker.
The clerk is Joy Starkey.

Bilsdale Midcable Parish Council meetings will be advertised on the Bridge End notice board, and normally on the Fangdale Beck, school and village hall parish noticeboards as well. The agenda for the meeting and minutes of the previous meeting will be posted.

The next scheduled meeting of Bilsdale Midcable Parish Council is at 7.30 on Wednesday 10th September 2008.
